Engine 42

Engine 42 is more than just a band name; it represents the legacy of my grandfather, Vance, as well as the community of Rogers, Arkansas. My grandfather had a passion for trains, and his lucky number was 42. Whenever he faced a question he couldn't answer, he would simply reply that the answer was 42.

Since his passing in 2012, Engine 42 of the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad, which travels through Rogers, has appeared on days that seem particularly heavy, serving as a reminder that Vance remains present, supporting me just like he did during his life.

Engine 42 represents the hope that even on the hard days, there can be a light at the end of the tunnel, and that there will always be someone to support you when you need it the most. There have been plenty of hard days for me in the last few years, but music has been one constant way to make the hard days a little more bearable. With Caleb and Marcus, my passion for music has been re-ignited, and is stronger than ever before. We are all excited to bring a new energy to the music scene in Northwest Arkansas, and carry on the legacy through Engine 42. - Lukas

Marcus began playing the violin at age four, studying the Suzuki method and building a strong classical foundation early on. After high school, he moved to Nashville where he sharpened his chops performing on Lower Broadway, holding regular residencies at iconic venues including Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, The Second Fiddle, and Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk, among others. During that time, he played numerous showcases, did some touring, and opened for artists such as Cody Johnson, Aaron Watson, Turnpike Troubadours, and others while performing with Texas-influenced country bands. He later relocated to Destin, Florida, where he held residencies at popular live music beach bars including AJ’s Oyster House and Boathouse Oyster Bar. Wherever he landed, he managed to fill his calendar with fiddle gigs—proving that a below par fiddle player can usually find work just about anywhere. He eventually moved to Austin, Texas, where he stayed busy for years as a hired gun and fill-in musician, touring and performing with artists such as Curtis Grimes, Dolly Shine, Clint Daniels and many more while also recording with acts like Kat Hasty and Holly Tucker. His travels have taken him across the country—from Oregon to Key West—seeing much of America from bench seats of slightly questionable white vans. Now based in Northwest Arkansas with his family, he enjoys playing with Lukas Wigington and Engine 42, keeping the fiddle warm and the miles a little shorter these days.

Caleb picked up a guitar in 2010 with a focus on teaching himself classical and finger-style techniques on a nylon string guitar, later becoming interested in the heavy sound of extended range electric guitars. In 2018 he joined his first band, a metal project initially called GreyMadder out of Siloam Springs, AR, and stayed with them through several lineup and name changes until it dissolved four years later. In 2021 he started learning a couple new instruments then made the switch to the country genre playing guitar, mandolin and pedal steel for Jeremy Treat as a duo in the Northwest Arkansas bar scene. From 2022-2025 his main project was the Abbey Pierce Band playing festivals, casinos, private events, and notably the Hog Town tailgate party each year for a Razorback football game. Caleb has been playing with Lukas Wigington & Engine 42 since July of 2025. Outside of music he and his wife are farmers that enjoy participating in markets and craft fair events around Northwest Arkansas.

Lukas started playing guitar at 9 years old, taking lessons from local instructor Bob Percival. He competed in public talent showcases, performed in school talent shows, and played at various parties and events while honing his craft. He was in choir and was a successful vocalist throughout high school, earning recognitions for All Region and All State choirs in Arkansas. After high school, Lukas started playing gigs in local restaurants and bars in Northwest Arkansas, and played in multiple bands, including playing bass in Pretty Boy Convoy with Gabrielle Mooney, guitar/band leader in the Ashlyn Metheny Band as well as the Kaylin Cripps Band, and played stints with Madison Watkins as well as with Heath Sanders. He started writing songs at age 12, but really started his songwriter journey in 2007 when he met Rick Garoutte (Marcus's Dad). Lukas and Rick started writing songs together, and over time, Lukas and Marcus got to know each other and became friends. Lukas was still playing solo acoustic gigs throughout his time in these bands, which led him to joining Straight Line for two years as lead vocalist. After 2020, Lukas dove into music production which has led to releases of his original music, as well as working as a demo engineer/singer for multiple writers. Lukas has lived in Northwest Arkansas all his life, and has two daughters that keep him busy when he isn't playing music. As the lead singer & guitarist of Lukas Wigington & Engine 42, Lukas has stepped into a new era of his musical journey, and has continued to build a brotherhood with Caleb and Marcus.
